Our Servant Leaders

PASTOR

Wayne Cash

Wayne grew up in organized religion and fell away in the 80’s due to the legalism of do’s and don’ts, only to find the joy of the Lord at a place called Calvary Chapel Wichita in 1988.

Most of his life in ministry has been spent as a bi-vocational assistant pastor.  He has been involved in ministry since 1990 and has served at several Calvary Chapel’s.  He was called to Calvary Chapel Fellowship in 2017, after God took Pastor Don home.

Wayne has a heart to continue the ministry that was set before him; to love the sheep and to feed the sheep, that they may reproduce, and we worship in unity.

ELDER & CHILDREN'S LEADER

Johnny Duncan

Johnny D was born in Southern California, not far from where Calvary Chapel first began. His family attended the West Covina congregation and accepted Jesus to be his savior at the age of 8 during a summer Bible camp at Green Oak Ranch. In 1980 his father Don & family moved to Kansas to start Calvary Chapel in Wichita, Ks.

The next 25 years was a battle of flesh and selfishness fueled by PTSD and manifested in drugs, sex, guns & violence. These immoral choices and self destructive behaviors landed him in State and Federal Prisons where God began to reveal and teach him thru the Word about grace, nature of God, forgiveness, identity in Christ and second chances. He now is the father of one child, Assistant Pastor at CCF, Elder on the servant leadership team as he oversees the children’s church and active in prison ministry as he works with various groups to help those in transition.

His motto is: In His counsel, by His strength, for His glory!

ELDER & YOUTH LEADER

Gary Lang

Gary was raised in a Catholic home and attended elementary parochial school. He grew up knowing about Jesus but never really grasped the depths of God’s love through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Gary spent years trying to find joy in partying and drugs. It wasn’t until spending a few months in a county jail that God was able to draw Gary into a personal relationship with His Son.

Gary accepted the call at Calvary Chapel Fellowship in 2011, later God gave Gary a passion to reach the incarcerated with the message of God’s love with the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. In 2012 Gary began serving inside Correctional Facilities to teach God’s Word. He currently services as a worship leader and servant elder at Calvary Chapel Fellowship as well as serving the needs of the  Central Kansas Prison Ministry.

ELDER

James Richards Jr.

James grew up in a Pentecostal church but fell away in the 80’s due to the selfishness and temptations of the world.  God brought him and the love of his life, Teresa, together in 1991.  Shortly thereafter they found Calvary Chapel through a friend of James’ and started growing in the Lord.  Through the Hermeneutics class at Calvary he learned how to study his Bible and grow in Christ.

He has been involved in ministry since 2001.  His life in ministry has been working in the sound ministry.  In 2014 he was asked to become an Elder of Calvary Chapel Fellowship.  James has a heart to serve people, to love on and serve the flock, and do what Christ calls him to do.   James is married to Teresa and they have three grown children and nine grandchildren.

DEACON

Kevin Hollingsworth

Kevin grew up mostly in Larned, KS, before moving to Wichita during the 7th grade. He moved several more times before leaving High School to support himself. He moved back to Wichita when he was 19 and his son was born when he was 20.

He was raised in the Nazarene church, but fell away from church when he moved out on his own. When his son was born, he knew he needed to be a better man, in order to be a better dad. He found his way back to God, but had issues with the “religion” of Christianity (got to dress like this, act like this, don’t do this or that). Then, Kevin found Don Duncan and Calvary Chapel where he heard the Bible being taught, not just life lessons using the Bible. That started a new relationship with Jesus and Kevin had found a place where he could serve the body of Christ.

Recently, Kevin married the love of his life, Amanda, and is excited about this new and wonderful part of their lives.

MEN’S MINISTRY LEADER

Pat Taggart

Pat grew up in Wichita Kansas and graduated from East High School in 1971. He attended Wichita State University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. After attending a wedding in Hays, Kansas he found his life’s partner waiting there for him. Charlene and Pat were married at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays, Kansas in June 1976. Seven years later in miraculous ways, both Pat & Charlene were saved at separate times in the Fall of 1983. Because they were in a Navigator’s Bible study when Pat got saved they both were reading and studying the scriptures daily so their lives were immediately transformed. Soon they were walking and preaching the real, live Jesus to all their friends and relatives. Also, both were being taught verse by verse through the scriptures by Pastor Don Duncan which provided a solid foundation for their life with Christ. Pat attended four (4) Promise Keepers events in the 1990s including the million-man “Solemn Assembly” event in Washington DC in October 1997. Pat has a desire to see men grow in their faith and take responsibility for their roles as husband, father, and spiritual leader of their family. Pat and Charlene have five (5) children and (15) fifteen grandchildren.

WORSHIP MINISTRY LEADER

Dennis Miller

Dennis was born and raised in Hutchinson, KS. Raised on Classic Country and Rock n Roll, he had a desire from a young age to learn to play guitar. It wasn’t until he went into the Navy that he bought his first guitar and started to teach himself how to play, sing, and write his own songs.

Soon after leaving the Navy, he moved to Wichita, where he continued playing and writing. In the winter of 1980, his life drastically changed when he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and the direction of both his life and music changed. He began to write songs about his faith, and also learned to use the guitar for worship.

In 1990, after returning to Wichita from Tulsa, OK, he was introduced to Calvary Chapel. Since that time he has lead worship teams at several churches, served in Jail and Prison ministry, and pastored his own church plant.

He currently serves as the music ministry servant leader for Calvary Chapel Fellowship in Wichita. He has been married to his wife, Susan, for 41 years, and they have 4 children and 12 grandchildren.

SOUND / MEDIA / IT

James Richards III

James Richards 3 was born and raised in Wichita, Ks, by James 2 and Teresa Richards. Pastor Don Duncan married my parents and dedicated me as a baby. We attended Calvary Chapel Hillside, the first Calvary Chapel in Wichita that Don Duncan established.

Then, we started going to Cornerstone Fellowship Church where my dad got me involved in helping set up the stage and tear it down weekly at the age of 7. By the time I was 12, I was helping regularly with the sound ministry.

In my later teen years I fell away and started exploring the world, and making some poor decisions. I was confronted about my sin, but I was not ready to deal with it at the time and left the church to avoid the issue.

I went back to my parent’s church, Calvary Chapel Fellowship, and a short time after was preparing for my first child, Amaris. Pastor Wayne Cash confronted me in a very helpful way with Christ’s grace and after Biblical premarital counseling, Samantha and I married were married.

James 3 has been serving in the Sound, Media, and IT Ministries since 2018, now has three beautiful blessings from God.
