Our Men’s Ministry – “The Called” – is dedicated to helping men grow in their obedience to Christ, thereby enriching their relationships with others (Gal. 5:13).
Men, the Apostle Paul says we have been called with a holy calling (2Tim 1:9). Peter further explains that “just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: Be holy, because I am holy. How can we be holy (set apart) for God? Read Psalm 1. Be circumspect. Watch where you walk, sit and talk. Delight yourself in God’s word. Meditate in it day and night. Your faith roots will grow deep and you will prosper in whatever you do, because the LORD will be with you just like He was with Joseph (Gen. 39:23).
The Apostle Paul also exhorted the men in the church at Corinth to “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.” (1 Cor. 16:13-14). Let us be men who desire to do just that…Men who are on guard against sin and temptation, men who desire to stand firm with unwavering faith, men who won’t fall for the schemes of the devil, men who find great strength in trusting God’s word to lead us to walk closely with Jesus during these last days.
Our present focus is on verse-by-verse teaching of God’s word and making application to our lives today. We do this twice a month.
Come learn and grow with us!
We meet on the 2nd and 4th Saturday @ 8:00am.
MEN'S MINISTRY LEADER
Pat Taggart
Pat grew up in Wichita Kansas and graduated from East High School in 1971. He attended Wichita State University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration.
After attending a wedding in Hays, Kansas he found his life’s partner waiting there for him. Charlene and Pat were married at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays, Kansas in June 1976.
Seven years later in miraculous ways, both Pat & Charlene were saved at separate times in the Fall of 1983. Because they were in a Navigator’s Bible study when Pat got saved they both were reading and studying the scriptures daily so their lives were immediately transformed. Soon they were walking and preaching the real, live Jesus to all their friends and relatives. Also, both were being taught verse by verse through the scriptures by Pastor Don Duncan which provided a solid foundation for their life with Christ.
Pat attended four (4) Promise Keepers events in the 1990s including the million-man “Solemn Assembly” event in Washington DC in October 1997. Pat has a desire to see men grow in their faith and take responsibility for their roles as husband, father, and spiritual leader of their family. Pat and Charlene have five (5) children and (15) fifteen grandchildren.
“A holy man will endeavor to shun every known sin, and to keep every known commandment.”
